The plus size bridesmaid dilemma

So I was probably one of the most excited people when my only sister got engaged.  I knew it was happening before she did.  So naturally she asked me to be her bridesmaid and I said yes.  I'm her baby sister why wouldn't I.  She was engaged for nearly 2 years and then in June this year she finally decided to set a date for her wedding.  It's going to be in may 2015.  I was so excited.  When Ali first decided that I was to be bridesmaid I was fine with it even when she said there would be five of us plus 3 flower girls and her matron of honour.  I never worried about it.  Then when she finally set the date the numbers had went down to 2.  Again I was totally excited about it. Then this week out of the blue my mum informs me that Ali is "panicking really badly" about "not being able to get a dress for me". Now if you have seen my previous blog posts you may have realised I'm a plus size girl and I'm not ashamed of that fact.  (So was my sister at one point). Anyway ... Since the first mention of bridesmaids I never once have had a concern about dresses even knowing that nat, her other bridesmaid Is a wee skinny thing.  So the fact I'm only hearing that she's panicking over the situation I kinda took offence.  At first I was like oh she's being melodramatic you can easily buy plus size dresses the same as other dresses.  But the way my mum keeps going on about it and that I might have to "get a different dress" or "its going to cost more money" etc is driving me mad.  Then I'm being told there will be 3 bridesmaids and that we will be going for our fittings in march 2014... And that I have to "lose weight" before then to get a dress I'm shocked and slightly panicked.  I'm now getting to the stage, thinking how am I gonna be able to lose 5 dress sizes in 5 months.  Plus is that even going to be enough.  I'm annoyed at the fact she's making me do this but more disappointed that she can't tell me it to my face but has to go through my mum.  But also I feel that she's ashamed of the way I look.  Yes I wanted to lose some weight before her wedding nearly 2 years away but I in no way thought I would be obligated to do so.  I know it may sound selfish and in some ways I feel a bit selfish but I honestly can't believe I'm in this situation at all.  I don't know what to do and now I just feel really down about the whole situation I really feel like saying I don't want to be part of her big day.  Am I just being a drama queen? Should I lose weight just to fit into her dress?  I'm just sad about the whole thing.

I will post any developments

Fashionista Make Up Palette

I found the Fashionista make up palette when i was shopping for my best friends Christmas present. i was in Superdrug just browsing
through the make up when i came across the Fashionista section. I was so excited to find that Fashionista made a create your own style make up palette.

I have seen palettes like this before but i never found them that accessible or a great value for money. In Superdrug the palette comes in red or black and is £5. The shadows and blushes are £4 each. There is always deals on i think just now they have a 5 for 3 deal on, therefore you get a palette full of make up for £16 saving £8. I think this is great considering i have paid around that for some of my single mac shadows.

The palette holds 4 pans of make up which can be made up of eye shadow, blush or a mix of both. They have a wide variety of colours and finishes to choose from which i loved.

I selected 3 eye shadows and 1 blush for my palette. The colours are lovely as you can see. The pans are really big too, bigger than a mac shadow i actually believe the Fashionista ones to be as big as Make up forever eye shadows. The colours i got are...

I love all the colours and they blend so well and also are pretty long lasting with and without a primer.

I love everything in the palette. I love the price, the look, the quality and quantity of product. I love the mirror in the palette and i love the fact you can interchange the contents. This is an awesome product and i would like to thank Fashionista for making it accessible and affordable.

finished shopping

So thats me finally picked up the last of my Christmas presents today. I managed to get the all wrapped and labelled ready for next Sunday. Omg its next Sunday I can't believe its crept in that quickly can you guys. Anyway I did find it really hard this year to find presents. Especially for my best friend steph whom I never struggle to buy for but I did find one cool present and if you come by tomorrow I will tell you all about it. On a surprising note buying for my brother was so easy which is never normally the case but this Christmas is turning out to be challenging but fun hehe

It's nearly Christmas!!!

i actually cant believe that its nearly christmas. Well the nights are fairly drawing in and im hating not having alot of daylight. It makes filming for youtube a bit of a pain as i try to film in as much natural lighting as i can. Anyway enough moaning about daylight the reason i tell you is because i figured out some lighting and have filmed some new make up tutorials for my youtube channel. Im editing as i speak and hopefully they will be up asap.

Right now on the channel i have been doing a Gossip Girl inspired mini series of make up tutorials. I really love the show and so wanted to recreate some of the looks. So far i have did a Serena Van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) tutorial. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5PxaMlXda0&feature=plcp&context=C302ca27UDOEgsToPDskI4AoU0OP_aPpz9dfbckuY1

I have also done a look for Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) tutorial too. Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5xd0CbIifo&feature=plcp&context=C39ad158UDOEgsToPDskIEO9nqDNh2zxkqVSW5TY6q

Oscars Themed Party Preparation

So in just over a week i am going to an Oscar themed party. Im so excited i actually cant wait. It will actually be so much fun. This party also gives me an excuse to proper glam up and i love those occasions. So i found out about the party last week and ever since i had been on a hunt for an amazing dress. I tried everywhere online (new look, simply be, yours, very, curvety, h&m and forever 21) finally i found 2 dresses i loved. The first was a blue one shouldered dress from ASOS curve. The other a beige and cream style prom dress from Evans. I wasnt sure about the ASOS dress as sometimes i find their sizing a bit of a hit or a miss (LET ME KNOW IF YOU EXPERIENCED THIS TOO) so i went to order the Evans dress only to find that my size had sold out... gutted. Fortunately i saw a new dress that was a similar style only white with black spots. So it arrived today and i love it. I have put a picture of the dress on its own and one with it styled with a belt. I think the belted dress looks much better as it breaks the dress up a little bit. Im also looking to make a tulle underskirt to make it more puffy. I will put up a picture in the next blog post when i have added the underskirt.

Now im off to try and find a hairstyle idea and i need to decide what to do with my make up. i will blog again soon
